Merricks Suburb Profile

Nestled in its wooded setting on the lower slopes of gently rolling hills and looks eastward to Westernport bay, the major waterways in the region are the Coolart, Merricks and East Creeks. Open space in the district includes Merricks Station Ground Reserve.

Merricks is a small township consisting of a few houses and has basically changed little from its earlier rural functions. The Merricks general store is a genuine historic rural store built in 1927. There is also a number of wineries in the district. The Merricks Railway Station Recreation Reserve provides equestrian facilities, picnic facilities and amenities. There are horse riding trails and pony and riding clubs, vineyards and conference centres in the Merricks region.
