Open garden Cruden Farm
10 May 2015, 10:00 AM to 10 May 2015, 4:30 PM
A wonderful opportunity to visit the renowned garden of the late Dame Elisabeth Murdoch in all its magnificent autumnal splendour.
Dame Elisabeth came to Cruden Farm as a young bride more than 80 years ago, and her legacy remains with her skilful garden design. Beautiful herbaceous borders, the famous avenue of lemon-scented gums, the picking garden, shrub walks, tree-shaded lawns and the landscaped lake are all harmoniously blended with the surrounding countryside.
There will be talks at 11am by Professor Gini Lee on ‘The landscape and the gardener; a ramble through Cruden Farm’s favourite places’.
There will also be guided garden tours at 12.30pm and 3pm.
Location: Entry is from Cranhaven Rd, Langwarrin. Melway 103:G5, Langwarrin, 3910
